What will happen if the ingenious tomb raider of our world finds one mysterious mirror and moves into the world of cultivators? Such happiness happened to Lord Tao, who, using only his cunning and intellectual abilities, will have to prove to this new world the power of his mind.
There is a Taoist temple deep in the mountains, where the incense has long withered away. I’m not a man of great talent, but at the age of nineteen, I’ve been a Taoist priest since I was a child. I have more than ten senior brothers above me, and I’m the youngest one below—commonly known as the "closing disciple" (the last disciple a master accepts before retiring). The temple was too poor, and my senior brothers couldn’t bear the hardship. Fortunately, our master (the abbot) was open-minded and let them leave one after another. Later, three of them realized their mistake and returned. By the master’s favor, he passed the abbot’s position to me before his death. However, neither my age nor my qualifications could convince others, and the three senior brothers refused to submit. It’s an unfortunate time for the temple, but I’m not a pushover—I will never back down, and thus internal strife broke out between us. In the village at the foot of the mountain, there’s a newly appointed Juren (a successful candidate in the provincial imperial examination). He’s my childhood friend. Before passing away, the master also told me to escort him to the capital for the national imperial examination. It’s my bounden duty. So let me take a trip to the mortal world first; I’ll come back to settle accounts with those senior brothers later!
A striking man of mysterious origin and peerless talent, he looks back at the world, in all its entirety, with utter disdain. And yet, in the treacherous and unpredictable ultimate formation of the Boundless Secular World, he guards a breathtaking ancient qin with broken strings, waiting silently for the destined one to arrive!
A boy encounters him, and knows for the first time that the world beneath the Heavens is a fickle place. Not even demons, devils, ghosts and monsters can match the frivolity of human nature!
A slender physique, and jade-like beauty, but the sword that strikes between heaven and earth is not unlike a streaming rainbow!
The vastness of the starry sky, the seven emotions and six desires! Greed, anger and ignorance! The teachings of Buddha will grant you boundless strength!
A sea of blood will come, at the cost of all mortal beings full of honest hope!
The ghosts wail as the gods roar, but the sea of blood has no end!
Where, pray tell, is the path I should take?
Since there is no path, no matter how bitter and bloody the sea, even if my boat is made out of bones, I will soar to the heavens above!
